演講簡介：
Robert A. Williams, Jr.教授為著名國際法、國際人權法學者，更是美國原住民人權、財產權及法制研究之權威學者。其於原住民法研究的領先地位，使William教授多年來獲美國華盛頓大學法學院、哈佛大學法學院及加拿大維多利亞大學法學院多次邀請擔任訪問教授。William教授常年擔任美國數個印地安保留區內上訴法院之首席法官，於美洲人權法院(the Inter-American Court of Human Rights)，美洲人權委員會(the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights)及聯合國原住民族工作小組(the United Nations Working Group on Indigenous Peoples)中亦擔任原住民族代表。William教授同時實際參與美國聯邦最高法院2001年Floyd Hicks, Nevada v. Hicks案訴訟過程，為美國現今原住民法研究中，除學術探討外亦少數專精於司法實務爭訟之重要學者。
清華大學科技法律研究所於2009年12月1日(週二)12:30-14:00假清華大學台積館八樓實習法庭，特邀Robert A. Williams, Jr.教授發表專題演講：「自決權與原住民財產權之保護—北美洲的觀點」，由原住民財產權歸屬與管理於北美洲之實踐經驗出發，William教授除將分享其本身寶貴之訴訟實務經驗外，更將討論原住民權利於國際法上之發展以及與人民自決權之相關議題。歡迎對於財產權理論與實務最新發展、原住民法與權利、國際人權法相關議題有興趣之學生、學術研究者與社會大眾蒞臨參與、共襄盛舉!(線上報名網址：http://aspa.teldap.tw/~itic/attend.html)

s 1999, 2000-2001, 2002-2003,2004年哈佛大學法學院訪問教授。【(2001-2002年獲聘為特聘訪問教授(Bennet Boskey Distinguished Visiting Lecturer of Law)，2004年獲聘為the first Oneida Indian Nation Visiting Professor of Law】
s 2005年加拿大維多利亞大學訪問教授
s 現為美國亞利桑那州大學法學院及美國原住民研究首席教授/亞利桑那州大學原住民法與政策研究學程主任
